Acting
We produce five shows per season and are always looking for new talent. We hold open auditions for each show early enough to choose adequate casts. Our actors have to be full members of the theatre (see Membership) and such members can just turn up to the audition.
Rehearsals begin as soon as the previous play is ended and usually provide about eight weeks of preparation with two regular evenings per week. Full commitment is required.
Production
The Director has full control of the production from casting to staging and works with the Coordinator of Productions in the choice of play and its place within the season.
Backstage
Stage management, including remote cueing contact with the control room.
Prompt. A vital assistance role.
Light and Sound. We have a state of the art computerised control panel. Interest in this area would be welcomed and training given if required.
Set work. Five productions a year require a good team of helpers with skills in building and painting sets. Design is also a need. A range of application is required including the not-so-skilled but keen.
Wardrobe. We have an extensive stock of stage costumes but assistance is always needed for its maintenance and development to meet new demands. Props are linked with wardrobe and particular interest in such is welcome.
Front of House. Hosting our audiences including handling ticket collection at the desk.
Bar staff. Handling bar duties during and after productions and at social events.
Our Contacts page provides contact details for more information about any of the above activities.
